Anika Devi Shah
Senior Product Manager
Senior PM with 10 years across health insurance, e-commerce health, EHR/clinical workflows, and now clinical AI decision-support — currently leading the team building Vita Diagnostics' first FDA SaMD submission. I've shipped to 4,500 clinics, $14M of consumer health GMV, and one decision-support pilot at 3 academic medical centers. MIT Sloan MBA, Wellesley CS undergrad. Quietly looking for a Director of Product role at a Series B–D health-tech that's already shipped Class II.

Senior Product Manager — Clinical Decision Support
Vita Diagnostics
- Lead PM on Vita's first Class II SaMD submission — clinical decision support for endocrinologist-managed insulin titration in type 2 diabetics
- Manage 2 PMs (one clinical workflow focus, one regulatory/FDA-submission focus); ~15 cross-functional members in the squad
- Owned 3 academic medical center pilot launches; sustained engagement at all 3; published clinical findings co-authored with site investigators (paper under review at JAMA Internal Medicine spinoff journal)
- Built and chair Vita's Clinical Advisory Board (7 endocrinologists, 1 CDE, 1 health-equity researcher) — runs quarterly
- Owns Vita's FDA pre-submission strategy alongside Head of Regulatory; 3 Q-Subs filed since I joined
Senior Product Manager — Patient Engagement
Athenahealth
Progression: Product Manager → Senior Product Manager (promoted 2022-04)
- Owned the patient-portal scheduling rewrite — shipped across 4,500 clinics on athenaCommunicator; sustained ~12% appointment-conversion lift over 8 quarters post-launch
- Led the migration from a server-rendered scheduling UI to a React-based SPA without disrupting the 4,500-clinic install base; zero rollback-trigger incidents in 18 months
- Built the Patient-Portal A/B testing infrastructure (initially with Optimizely, migrated to a custom in-house framework when Optimizely contract terms changed)
- Managed cross-functional roadmap across 3 engineering pods (~22 engineers) + 1 designer + 1 user researcher
- Drove the strategy decision to deprecate the standalone iOS app in favor of PWA + native shell — controversial; ultimately correct (saved ~$2.5M in maintenance + freed 4 engineers)
- Completed MIT Sloan MBA part-time (2018–2020) while in this role; thesis on hospital-system buyer behavior in EHR procurement
Product Manager — Health & Wellness
Wayfair
Progression: Associate Product Manager → Product Manager (promoted 2018-01)
- Launched Wayfair Vision — Wayfair's first online prescription-eyewear flow (HSA/FSA eligible); $14M first-year GMV
- Led the team that built Wayfair's HSA/FSA payment infrastructure (later reused by 4 other Wayfair sub-categories: medical supplies, mobility aids, ergonomic furniture, supplements)
- Owned the discontinuation of the Wayfair Health-Insights blog (negative-ROI editorial vertical); reallocated $400k annual budget to product
- Promoted from Associate PM to PM after 16 months; one of the fastest promotions in the H&W division that year
- Worked across 4 PM cohorts (consumer, payments, supply-chain, regulatory) on the Wayfair Vision launch
Associate Product Manager — Member Experience
Tufts Health Plan
- First full-time PM role out of Wellesley
- Built and shipped the member-facing "claims status" feature in the Tufts mobile app; reduced "where's my claim?" call volume by 23% in the 6 months post-launch
- Wrote the requirements doc for Tufts' first prior-authorization status notification system (built by my successor; shipped 2017)
- Member of the Tufts cross-functional "Member Friction" task force; surfaced and prioritized 47 member-friction items across 4 quarters

Gaps & Growth Areas
EU MDR / international regulatory pathway (UK MHRA, APAC TGA)
Pure consumer health-tech (e.g., Calm-style wellness apps): zero recent experience
Have not shipped a Class II SaMD through full FDA clearance yet
Vita's submission is in progress; I've shipped Q-Subs but not cleared. If a Director role requires hands-on 510(k) shipping experience, I'm 80% there but not 100%. I'd be the right person if "FDA literate + has done the pre-sub work + can finish a clearance in 12 months at the new org" is acceptable.
International / non-US regulatory experience: zero
No EU MDR, no UK MHRA, no APAC TGA exposure. If the next role requires immediate Europe or APAC launch, I'd be ramping for 3–6 months. If US is the primary market for the first 18 months, I'm right-fit.
Have managed at most 2 direct reports
Senior PM with 2 reports at Vita; previously IC. The next role will be my first time managing 4–8 PMs. I have a clear leadership philosophy + 2 years of practice with my Vita reports, but I'm honest that scaling from 2 to 6 is a real step-change. Hiring me means trusting that step-change.

Frequently Asked Questions
Pre-answered by the candidate — or ask the AI for more depth.
Are you actively job searching?
Quietly looking, ~6 month window. Targeting Director of Product roles at Series B–D health-tech with FDA-cleared products in market. I'll respond to all serious inbound on Profiled within 48 hours.
What does "FDA-cleared in market" mean to you?
At least one Class II SaMD currently cleared (not just submitted), with at least 12 months of post-launch commercial data. I want to lead commercial scaling, not pre-clearance theater.
Will you consider startups pre-Series-A?
Generally no — I've done pre-clearance and pre-PMF; I'm looking for the next phase. I'd consider seed if the founders are clinician-PhDs I've worked with before.
Boston-only, or true remote?
True remote with quarterly onsite is preferred. If a role requires Boston 2 days/week and the team is exceptional, I'd consider. If it requires Boston 5 days/week, no.
How early in a process do you talk comp?
Early — first conversation with the hiring manager, before any loop. My range is already on this profile ($250–290k base + meaningful equity); if that's out of band I'd rather we both know in the first 20 minutes than after five interviews.
