How matching works on Profiled
Version 1.0 — Effective 18 October 2026
When a registered recruiter adds a job, Profiled Recruitment Classifier Engine reads the whole job ad and lists what the role asks for: duties, skills, qualifications, licences and experience. It then compares each candidate’s Profiled profile with those requirements and sorts candidates into three groups:
- Strong fit: “Your experience lines up closely with what this job asks for.”
- Worth a conversation: “There's a real case here, with things a hiring manager should ask you about.”
- Probably not your person: “The gaps are big enough that this role likely isn't the right match.”
Every result comes with plain-language reasons: which requirements your profile shows, shows in part or doesn’t show.
Recruiters decide
Profiled Recruitment Classifier Engine never rejects anyone and never contacts candidates on its own. Recruiters see every group, including ‘Probably not your person’, and choose who to contact.
What we use
Your work history, skills, qualifications, the licences and eligibility you declare, and any work-related context you add.
What we never use
Your name, photo, age or date of birth, sex, gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability or health, family or relationship status, sexual orientation, postcode, graduation dates, salary history or unemployment status. The same applies to any other protected attribute in the places we operate. Private context you add can shape a result only through work-related content. It is never shown to recruiters.
Your choices
You can see the reasons for any result about you, ask for a person to review it, correct your profile, or opt out of matching at any time. Opting out does not remove you from Profiled, and recruiters can still find you by searching manually. You can opt out or back in from Settings › Recruiter matching.
Fairness checks
We check results for differences between groups, using optional answers that candidates give separately and that never affect matching (about the optional questions).
Where your data is held
Profiled’s data is hosted in the United States. See our Privacy Policy and sub-processors.
Some details of how results are reached are kept confidential to stop people gaming them. Where we hold something back, we say so and why.
